Only 1 in 5 adults in Ireland (20%) believe that Ireland is on track to meet its climate targets.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Over half (58%) of adults think that the Transport sector in Ireland contributes most to Ireland\u2019s greenhouse gas emissions, followed by Technology\/ Data Centres (51%), and then Agriculture (50%).<\/p>\n

\u2022 In order to help Ireland meet its emissions targets, 69% would support expanding wind\/ solar panel, 59% would support retrofitting homes, and 41% would support taxing high-emissions vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u2022 47% of adults are aware of Ireland\u2019s greenhouse gas emissions targets for 2030 to 2050 with 14% very aware.<\/p>\n

\u2022 71% of respondents agree that more government funding should be allocated to support farmers in reducing emissions.<\/p>\n

\u2022 When thinking about Ireland failing to meet its emissions targets, 1 in 3 adults are most concerned about the extreme weather, 28% are most concerned about EU fines, and 22% are worried about the economic cost.<\/p>\n

\u2022 67% of adults believe that missing climate targets will have long-term economic consequences for Ireland.<\/p>\n

\u2022 More than 1 in 3 (34%) would be willing to pay more in taxes or levies if it helped Ireland meet its climate goals.<\/p>\n

\u2022 30% of respondents have seen or heard recent campaigns encouraging emissions reductions.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Only 24% of adults are optimistic about Ireland\u2019s ability to reach net-zero by 2050 with 8% of those very optimistic.<\/p>\n
